There are many folkloric myths surrounding druids and the Wicker Man. Julius Caesar's diaries mention the ritual burning of prisoners and criminals as far back as 55 BC. Todays Druids are probably as much influenced by the 1973 ‘The Wicker Man’ movie, than by any historical evidence, which is non existent. However there is some rare historical evidence that shows Celtic races did burn and sacrifice animals and people at times.
